Why FCC records matter

Electronic products sold in the United States may be subject to FCC technical and authorization requirements related to radio-frequency emissions or intentional transmitters.

What to record

  • Exact model number.
  • FCC identifier when applicable.
  • Manufacturer declaration or certificate.
  • Installation conditions stated in the documentation.

Use current documents

The Compliance Center organizes published model-level references, but the current manufacturer document should be checked before regulated procurement.
